Home

For out of the ground we were taken; for dust we are and to dust we will return.

We have all become like an unclean thing and our righteous acts are like filthy rags.

There is none of us who do good.

Not one.

We all shrivel up like a leaf and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

We have all turned away; we have all become corrupt.

To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty,

we are in rags, we are brutally treated,

we are homeless.

We work hard with our own hands.

When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;

when we are slandered, we answer kindly.

We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world.
